Jorg grew up
in Heidelberg, Germany and has been mountaineering and
skiing since early childhood. He started travelling
world-wide early in his climbing life: Yosemite big walls
routes at age 18 and Nameless Tower in the Karakorum
Himalayas at 24, at which age he was fully certifed as a
mountain guide (UIAGM / IFMGA). He also holds a graduate
business degree and a CPA diploma, which he had put to work
for 4 years in his other life with an international
business consulting firm, first in Frankfurt, later in
Chicago and Denver. After 6 years in Colorado, Jorg moved
in 2000 to the Canadian Rockies, where he settled with his
family in Canmore AB. Aside from working as a heli-ski
guide for CMH, he runs his own year round guiding business
called OnTop. He specializes in mountaineering, ski touring
and trekking trips in the Canadian West and in the Alps,
where he has particularly good knowledge of the Dolomites.
